SKALER
Studio

How we build.

Skaler is an operator-led holding company that builds rather than buys, stays majority owner, and compounds operational intelligence across every venture.

How a venture gets built

Five stages. Five gates. No exceptions.

Every Skaler venture moves through the same sequence. Each stage ends at a gate, and a venture only passes when the evidence says so. An idea dies at the gate it fails, quickly and cheaply.

  1. 01

    Decompose

We map the market: stakeholders, incentives, workflows, data, economics. We quantify the pain and look for traction signals.

GateThe gap is structural, expensive, and currently unsolved.

  2. 02

    Validate

Customer conversations, not surveys. A prototype people will pay for. Unit economics modeled at realistic volumes.

GateCustomers commit, and the math works before scale.

  3. 03

    Prove

We build the MVP with our own capital and a small team, running on the Company OS from day one.

GateReal traction, most often at or beyond break-even.

  4. 04

    Systematize

Workflows become playbooks, data flows into the shared layer, agents are certified for defined jobs, and the operating team takes over.

GateThe venture runs on systems, not heroics.

  5. 05

    Scale

Patient capital partners enter to accelerate what already works.

GateThe partner brings more than money: distribution, assets, or sector depth.

Most ideas die at gate one or two. That is the point. The sequence is why three launches produced three operating companies.

The Company OS

No venture starts from zero.

The Company OS is the shared infrastructure every venture runs on. It is not a product. It is how we operate, and it is why we launch compliant, staffed ventures in a fraction of the usual time and capital.

  • Research and monitoring

Market, competitor, regulatory, demographic, and economic intelligence, continuously updated.

  • Recruitment and talent systems

Pan-European university pipelines, proof-of-work screening, structured development.

  • Product and engineering standards

Shared infrastructure, reusable components, quality gates.

  • Marketing, sales, and distribution

SEO systems, outreach playbooks, partnership frameworks.

  • Capital allocation

Financial modeling, staged deployment, disciplined kill criteria.

Performance data from each venture feeds back into the system, so every new company starts smarter than the last. We measure the OS by outcomes, not features: how fast we launch, and how little capital it takes.

The people behind the system.

Co-founder · Capital markets

Dutch capital markets background, with operational presence in the Netherlands. Focused on patient-capital partnerships and institutional structures for growth-stage ventures.

Skaler is founded and run from Lisbon. Additional founder roles and one-line bios will be published here as they are cleared for release.

Ventures are led by operators from our own pipeline. Skaler acts as active co-founder and takes majority ownership for providing the system; operators earn significant vested equity in the ventures they build.

They are supported by a senior advisor network: former regulators, exited PropTech operators, and international real estate professionals.

How we operate

An AI-native operating system, run by people.

Every workflow in the studio is built around three layers. This is not a feature we added. It is how the company runs.

Shared context layer

The Property Condition Graph: inspection records, registry cross-references, transaction outcomes, regulatory rules. Every venture reads from it and writes back to it. Each new venture starts smarter than the last.

Agent fleet, narrow jobs

Registry and due diligence agents, report drafting and QA agents, regulatory monitoring agents, lead scoring agents, matching agents for off-market deal flow. Every agent has a narrow job, a measurable output, and a human approval path.

Human judgment layer

People own strategy, compliance sign-off, client relationships, and every certified output. No certified report leaves the building without a qualified professional signing it.

The engine room

A dedicated AI systems team scans new developments, prototypes against real venture problems, and certifies what works before it spreads. Weekly AI tooling sprints and monthly in-house workshops train the whole team on certified workflows. Failures become reusable rules.

Measurement

We track AI contribution like any other input: share of report sections auto-drafted, time from inspection to report, accuracy against human baselines, hours saved per workflow. What does not measurably help gets removed.

Governance

Approval paths, risk thresholds, escalation rules, and EU AI Act readiness are built into the system, not bolted on. Where outputs carry certification and liability, governance is not overhead. It is the license to operate.

Capital strategy

Self-funded by choice.

We build and operate every venture with our own capital. Full self-funding is a capability, not an ideology: it gives us speed, strategic control, and alignment with durable businesses instead of fundraising cycles.

When a venture has proven its model with real traction, most often at or beyond break-even, we open it to partners for growth. We prefer patient capital that measures in decades and brings more than money: distribution, assets, or sector depth. The studio is self-funded today; we would consider studio-level capital only for long-horizon infrastructure like team housing and offices, and only from patient, strategic partners. Never quick-win capital.

The path forward

Portugal is the beachhead, not the boundary.

We will not dilute our moat through premature geographic expansion. Our regulatory expertise, local relationships, and talent pipeline do not travel easily. Instead, we are stacking new verticals on the data layer we already own.

Evaluating

Insurance risk modeling

Insurers price property risk on outdated valuation models; certified condition data enables accurate scoring.

Evaluating

Construction compliance software

Post-DL 10/2024, builders need compliance tooling; we already run the monitoring system it would be built on.

Planning

Property management automation

Owners need automated compliance and maintenance scheduling fed by real condition history.

Longer term, once we hold a dominant position in Portuguese property data infrastructure, we will selectively expand to other Southern European markets with similar fragmentation. The Company OS and talent systems are portable. Regulatory expertise gets rebuilt locally through partnerships. Our discipline: no vertical launches until the data layer supports it and a regulatory or market mandate exists.

The system is only as good as the partners it serves.
